Flowcharting.
Flowcharting. This was our first topic in TLE 4. So what about Flowcharting? Flowcharting is a tool for analyzing processes. It allows you to break any process down into individual events or activities and to display these in shorthand form showing the logical relationships between them. Constructing flowcharts promotes better understanding of processes, and better understanding of processes is a pre-requisite for improvement.
Flowcharting also uses different symbols to help describe the types of events in the chart more clearly. Some symbols are circle, oval, diamond and rectangle.
- The circle or connector is used to represent a point at which the flowchart connects with another process.
- The oval or also called the terminal, shows the start and end in the process.
- The diamond or decision symbol indicates a question or branch in the process flow.
- And the rectangle or process shows a process or action step.
Some of its uses are the following:
- it is used as an efficient means of communication
- it serves as an analytical tool
- it is a concise form of documentation.
I think this is an interesting topic that I want to know more, because I know it can help me someday. I still want to know more about it, like how to use the other symbols in flowcharting. And also the part where we have to use codes in making the program. Sounds exciting! I also think that it is very important in making a program so that it would be an organized one. ;)
Thank you. *bows*
